Picture Maker – The Art of Peter Etril Snyder
Air Date – October 25, 1997

Kitchener’s CKCO-TV offers viewers an intimate conversation with one of the community’s most successful visual artists tonight.

Picture Maker: The Art of Peter Etril Snyder (6:30 p.m. on 13, Cable 12) is produced by Wilie Nassau, former director of audio visual services at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Narrated by Pamela Sahli and featuring classical music by the Waterloo Chamber Players, this half-hour program looks not only at Snyder’s more famous work — the Mennonite lifestyle acrylics — but also at his watercolors and pastels of European and Caribbean landscapes.

It also notes Snyder’s love for getting out of his private study to do his painting in public places, like malls.

The timing of this show is appropriate; during all of November, Snyder will have an exhibit at the K-W Art Gallery and visitors will be able to observe him painting daily.
