CTV Announces Major Expansion of Local News with All-New Weekday Newscasts at 5 p.m.

Announced today as part of CTV’s fall schedule reveal, CTV NEWS KITCHENER expands its local news programming this fall with the addition of an early-evening newscast, CTV NEWS AT FIVE. Featuring unique weekday broadcasts highlighting the biggest news from across Southwestern Ontario, CTV NEWS AT FIVE begins this fall, and leads into Kitchener’s #1 source for news and this year’s RTDNA Bert Cannings Award for Best Newscast (Medium Market) winner, CTV NEWS AT SIX, to further bolster CTV News’ commitment to local news coverage. “With the addition of CTV NEWS AT FIVE this fall, the CTV Kitchener team will work to expand our award-winning local news coverage and be bigger than ever,” said Kristin Wever, News Director, CTV Kitchener. “Viewers can tune in to CTV NEWS AT FIVE to stay informed as the stories of their communities continue to unfold.”

The first CTV NEWS AT FIVE aired in Kitchener on Monday, September 18, 2017 with Marc Venema and Rosie Del Campo hosts. Other regular hosts since then have been Stu Gooden and Rosie Del Campo, and now Alexandra Pinto and Max Wark.
