Donald James Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband on February 5, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona after a brief illness. Survived by his loving wife Donna Scott, his children Jamie (Debbie), Brian (Cynthia), Mary (Jim) and grandchildren Trevor (Michelle), Jon (Whitney), Justin (Jackie), Lindsey (Dan), Tyler and Andrew, Andre, Julia, great-grandchildren Mick, Lucas, Jack and Dahlia.

Don had a passion for music as a trumpet player from the age of 5 to 85, having played in his own Dance Band and of recent the Ayr Paris Band, Goderich and the Mesa Concert Band. He was the founder of the Dutch Boy Cadets in 1968 and lead as Corp Director until 1974. Don was a Senator with the KW Jaycees where he was instrumental in starting the first local Santa Claus Parade. He was involved with the Kitchener Downtown Business Association as well as the KW Ad and Sales Club. He was an entrepreneur who founded numerous businesses along with his last endeavour, Trade show Displays which he and his wife Donna ran successfully until his retirement. During Don’s retirement he and Donna travelled the world and enjoyed summers in Bayfield and their winters in Arizona. We will always have a lasting memory of his positive attitude and sense of humour.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring, to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
