Charles Hummel
April 15, 1887 – July 9, 1961
Charles A. Hummel, 74, of 15 Scott St., died Sunday at his residence from a heart attack after a one-year illness.
Born in Maryhill, April 15, 1997, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He worked as a maintenance man at CKCO-TV and was a member of St. Mary’s RC Church. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hummel, St., Bloomingdale.
Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Pruden, whom he married in Saskatoon 48 years ago; three sons, Cecil, Wilfred and Patrick of Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Marjorie) McDonald and Mrs. P. F. (Avis) Onn of Waterloo; a brother, Arthur Hummel of Preston; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Mina) Yantz of RR 1, Breslau, and nine grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters predeceased him.
The body is at the Gruhn Funeral Home where prayers will be said Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by requiem high mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday night at 8 o’clock.
