Sunday Serenade
Aired from August 7, 1954 to June 28, 1958 – Sunday Evenings from 7:30 – 8:00
Sunday Serenade was a “Live” studio musical production aired on Sunday evenings. The show featured “The Song Spinners”, a vocal ensemble accompanied by Joe Carlo on the Piano or Organ, Bob Dopp, bass and Trev Bennett, drums. Future Kitchener Mayor, Morley Rosenberg was the male soloist. Later music was provided by Johnny Kostigan and his Orchestra. Guest singers and musicians were invited to be on the show hosted by Don Martz. Sunday Serenade was eventually replaced on CKCO-TV with Jackie Gleason’s “Honeymooners”.
