Thomas White passed away at his home on Monday May 19, 2008 in his 82nd year. He was the loving husband of Jean (Lynden) White, his bride of 56 years. He was the dear father of four; Larry (Orla), Shawn (Caroline), Scott (Berenice) and Lance (Louise) and grandfather of Jamie, Beth, Tom, Isabelle and Toby of Guelph.

He was born in Humberstone, which is now part of Port Colborne, where he grew up and lived for his first 40 years before moving to Guelph. He shared his joy and enthusiasm when singing, acting and displaying his unique brand of humour.

His career included 26 years as a newscaster in radio and TV. In retirement, he enjoyed 13 winters in Tucson, Arizona, and 4 ½ years in The Village by the Arboretum where they met many wonderful friends that helped him live life to the fullest.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at Trinity United Church, 400 Stevenson St. N, in Guelph at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2008. A visitation will be held the night before (Monday, May 26th, 2008 from 7pm to 9pm) at Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 200 Norfolk St., in Guelph. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation, 204-21 Surrey St. W., Guelph N1H 3R3 or to the Trinity United Church Memorial Fund, 400 Stevenson St. N., Guelph, ON N1E 5C3.
