Donald Wilfred George Martz – 1928 – 2013 – Peacefully at age 84 surrounded by his loving family at the Jewish General Hospital. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Olga. Beloved father of Tim (Debbie) and Debi (Bill) Brownstein. Cherished papa to eight loving grandchildren: Ian (Berna), Jamie (Tina), Ali, Joey, Chrissy (Marco), Craig, Lauren (Adam) and Mike. Loving great-grandfather to: Kiley, Ethan, Ever, Cash and Raquel. Dear brother of Grace (Roman) Braun and uncle of David (Tracy) Braun and Jim Braun, Paula and David Mantay.

Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Don worked and lived most of his life in Montreal. He enjoyed a nearly 40-year career in radio and television, with the last 20 years as Vice-President and General Manager of CFCF-TV 12, CFCF and CFQR radio in Montreal. After retirement, he built Fermes Windedge (Sainte-Justine-de- Newton), raised horses and hosted numerous dressage events including the Canadian championships and Olympic trials. He was President of the Canadian Equestrian Federation.

His extreme kindness, generosity, positive attitude and devotion to his family were a true inspiration to us all. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Vilma Ramos Solak for her loving care and compassion over the past year.

Services will be held in the chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex (1297 chemin de la Foret, Outremont H2V 2P9 514-279-6540) on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation.
