Archie Ferrie

It is with sadness that the family of Archie Ferrie announces his passing in Chatham on Sunday, May 10th, 2009, in his 89th year. Born in Toronto, Archie was an avid music lover, collector, and outdoor enthusiast. He took an early interest in radio and spent the greater part of his life working for CFCO radio in Chatham and CKCO Television in Kitchener, servicing the Southwestern Ontario market as an advertising executive. He served briefly in the RCMP and in the Merchant Navy during WWII as a radio operator. Archie retired in Chatham close to many of his family, friends, and business associates. He is survived by his seven children Arch Jr. (Jennifer) Louise Marshall (Ken), Bonnie (Ken), Carmen McCauley (Marcus), Randal (Judy), Darryl (Laura), and Marion (Brian) and five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial will be held in his memory at Aristo’s Banquet Hall (Smitty’s), 307 Grand Ave. West., Chatham, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24th, 2009.
