Bob Mau
August 28, 1941 – July 19, 2015

Robert Sylvestre Mau, aged 73 years, passed away in St. Joseph Hospice on Sunday, July 19, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Robert was born in Pembroke Ontario to Ed and Blanche Mau on August 28, 1941. He started his working career in Pembroke at a TV station and then moved to Kitchener, Ontario, where he spent five years working at another TV station. Robert then came to Thunder Bay where he joined Confederation College, working in the broadcasting program. It was here that he formed many lasting relationships throughout his 30 year career.

Robert was exceedingly talented in many areas and enjoyed fixing things as well as taking on new projects. He always made himself available to help anyone in need.

While Robert really enjoyed fishing, watching hockey and woodworking, his real passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Robert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; daughter Cassandra Rosdobutko (Jamey) and son Kevin (Caroline); grandchildren, Steven, Kristen (Ryan), Ryan, Madeleine, Katrina, Anna and Dara; siblings Allan (Jean), Liz (Ross) and Stephanie (John); mother-in-law, Freida Scheel as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ray (Paulette), Gary (Joanne), Linda (Roger) and Brenda (Peter). Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Ed and Blanche Mau, brother Glen, father-in-law Cliff Scheel, and friend, Larry Lampi.

As per Robert`s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Wesway or Special Olympics would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
